DPF Cleaner from Forte

Forté Power-Clean (Diesel Particulate Filter) DPF Cleaner and (Diesel Particulate Filter) DPF Flush have been specially formulated to obtain the very best cleaning results without the need to dismantle components. It will remove oily deposits, soot and ash deposits from the vehicle's DPF.

  • Removes deposits from the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
  • Reduces back pressure in the exhaust
  • Eliminates check engine lights
  • Takes vehicles out of ‘limp home’ mode
  • Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner dissolves soot and ash within the DPF and removes oil contamination from the filter
  • Biodegradable formulations
  • For all diesel engines with a DPF

**Forte's DPF Cleaner is only for use with the Forté Power-Clean machine. Do not add the vehicle's fuel tank.**

All diesel engined vehicles manufactured since 2009 have been manufactured with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) in their exhaust system. This device traps soot particles generated during the combustion process and stores them until such a time as the vehicles ECU decides it’s about time to empty the DPF. It does this by raising the temperature in the DPF to around 600°c so the soot trapped there burns away, this is referred to as regeneration.

There are many different systems to do this and because of that, many things to go wrong. Driving style is the commonest reason for the regeneration process to fail, but even unusual equipment failures will stop the regeneration taking place. An open window, a blown fuse for a heated seat, or less than 20 litres of fuel in the tank will all stop regeneration.

Other causes of DPF failure include:

  • Frequent short journeys where the engine fails to reach optimum operating temperature.
  • The use of the wrong engine oil – low ash, low sulphur oil must be used on DPF equipped vehicles.
  • EGR valve problems, such as stuck or fouled EGR components – EGR failure contaminates the inlet with oily “wet” residues, causing excessive dense soot loading.
  • Turbo failure – oil passes through turbo seals into the exhaust housing and the burnt oily residue enters the DPF, causing excessive dense soot loading.
  • The additive tank (EOLYS, if fitted) is low or empty – this can make any attempted DPF regeneration unsuccessful and can result in premature blocking.

If your vehicle has a blocked DPF you may experience symptoms like these:

  • Loss of power
  • Reduced fuel economy
  • Poor throttle response
  • Harder or failure to start
  • Limp mode (most likely)
  • Bad smells

Forte’s (Diesel Particulate Filter) DPF Cleaner and the Power Clean Machine is a two part cleaning system and is the best way to remove the contamination and deposits from within the Diesel Particulate Filter to restore the vehicles performance, reliability and fuel efficiency.
