It's very common for partially blocked fuel injectors to be a contributing factor in your blocked Diesel particulate Filter. Equally, having properly functioning fuel injectors can help to keep your DPF clean and working properly.
Properly functioning diesel fuel injectors ensure that combustion happens as it was designed to do. This, in turn, means that proper combustion temperatures in your engine are reached. This is important as your DPF regeneration process relies on heat to actively burn off the accumulated soot that the DPF catches from the combustion process.
If your diesel fuel injectors are partially blocked, the droplet size of the diesel fuel sprayed by the injector will be too big. This larger fuel droplet will create larger soot particles when burnt in combustion. These larger soot particles will block your DPF quicker than those soot particles created by combustion from properly functioning diesel fuel injectors.
