Use Forte New Generation Engine Flush With Every DPF Clean
Use Forte's New Generation Engine Flush, DPF Cleaner & Regenerator, and Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner for a complete DPF clean. Every time your vehicle's engine performs a DPF regeneration diesel fuel finds it's way into your engine oil. If the regeneration process fails, or get's interrupted, the vehicle will try again. The more regeneration processes that take place, the more diesel fuel is dumped into the engine oil.
Some vehicle manufacturers even put a 3rd notch on the dipstick so you can monitor the increasing volume of oil/fuel in your vehicles sump.
The diesel fuel enters the crankcase and engine sump as a result of post-injection during Diesel Particulate Regeneration. Extra diesel fuel is injected, often by an extra fuel injector in the exhaust manifold, this ignites and helps the regeneration process by providing the extra heat needed for the DPF to regenerate.
If this extra fuel is not burnt off during the combustion process for any reason, it flows down between the piston skirt and cylinder wall towards the crankcase, where it mixes with the engine oil. This causes the oil in your engine to lose viscosity, which results in the oil film that's formed between engine components to be weaker, and less able to protect your engine from the high loads placed upon it. This is particularly so in high stress areas where good engine lubrication is important, such as crankshaft bearings, camshaft lobes, pistons and con-rods. In extreme conditions this could lead to your engine becoming seized.
A further problem that's caused by an excessive amount of diesel fuel mixing with your engine oil during DPF regeneration is oil sludge. Oil sludge is the result of diesel fuel contaminating your engine oil. The oil becomes a thick gel that sticks to engine parts, and blocks the oil galleries that allow oil to flow through the engine. This causes premature engine wear, and can lead to expensive repairs.
Forte's New Generation Motor Flush has been specifically formulated to deal with these specific problems found in modern diesel engines with fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters. It's particularly suited to dissolving these deposits. If used at every oil change it will help to keep your vehicle on the road, running reliably, and minimise expensive engine repairs.
